Teachers Mutual Bank Limited welcomes appointment of new Director to its Board

Teachers Mutual Bank Limited (the Bank) has announced the appointment of a new Director to its Board. 

Professor Susan (Sue) Matthews, was appointed to the Board in February 2024, filling the vacancy following Director Linda Green’s retirement. 

As the Bank’s new Director and current CEO of the Royal Women’s Hospital, Australia’s first and largest specialist public hospital for women and newborns, Professor Matthews brings with her deep experience in the health sector domestically and internationally and rich leadership and advocacy capability. 

Teachers Mutual Bank Limited Chair, Maree O’Halloran AM welcomed Professor Matthews as a newly appointed Director to the Bank’s Board.  

“In addition to Sue’s leadership and industry sector experience, her demonstrated advocacy experience aligns with the purpose and values of Teachers Mutual Bank Limited,” Ms O’Halloran said.

“Sue has a long and esteemed career in the health sector – one of the essential worker sectors the Bank is focussed on servicing. As a bank for good for those who do good, we welcome Sue’s commitment and contribution as we continue the strong growth of our mutual bank.”

Professor Matthews is a Graduate of the AICD Company Directors course, has a Doctor of Public Health, Master of Health Science Nursing, Bachelor of Liberal Arts, Health Studies and has completed a fellowship for Nurse Executives at Wharton School of Business.
