Teachers Mutual Bank Limited announces appointment of Chief Information Officer

Teachers Mutual Bank Limited today announced the appointment of Dan Chesterman as Chief Information Officer effective from 14 April 2025.

Dan brings more than three decades of technology and transformation experience across financial services and consulting. He’s led the Technology and Data functions at organisations including the Australian Securities Exchange and CommSec as well as provided technology and strategic advisory services to a range of businesses from large corporates to start-ups.

Teachers Mutual Bank Limited’s CEO, Anthony Hughes, said he was pleased to have a professional of Dan’s calibre join the team and bring his knowledge and experience into the member-owned bank.

“Dan is an experienced and dynamic leader who has driven transformative technology change.

“He joins Teachers Mutual Bank Limited at a pivotal time where we are undergoing a significant transformation and modernisation program. His experience in establishing and delivering successful technology outcomes for highly regulated businesses will be invaluable as we undertake this program of work and continue to deliver great outcomes for our members,” Anthony said.

On his appointment, Dan said he was “drawn to Teachers Mutual Bank Limited’s clear purpose and focus on members.

“I am passionate about the potential of technology and data to shape our world. I’m looking forward to bringing my experience to the bank, at such an important time for our member-owned bank and the mutual sector.”

Dan's previous roles include Chief Information Officer and Group Executive, Technology and Data at ASX, Chief Information Officer, CommSec & Private Bank, Commonwealth Bank, senior management roles at Accenture and a variety of consulting roles.

Dan holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Merit (Marketing / Finance), a Master of Business & Technology, and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
