Teachers Mutual Bank Limited named global finalist in Finance for the Future Awards, London

Recognising the financial leaders building sustainable economies, Teachers Mutual Bank Limited (TMBL) has been named as a global finalist in Finance for the Future Awards to be held in London.

TMBL has been named a Finalist in for ‘Moving Financial Markets – large organisations’ category, alongside Aviva Investors, CDPQ, Moody's and Santander Brasil worth $1.7 trillion. These awards recognise financial leaders who are best practise globally.

The Finance for the Future Awards celebrate organisations and individuals who are supporting the integration of sustainability into financial decision-making. They drive awareness, inspire action and foster a community of leaders committed to creating sustainable outcomes for their organisations.

The Finance for the Future Awards were created in 2012 to recognise leadership within the finance function to drive sustainable economies. The awards are open to all individuals and organisations globally. Individual entries tell a story of innovation and leadership from the finance community which can inspire, influence and inform.

Why are these awards important?

Finance is essential in helping to drive progress: it transforms the way we see, record and organise the world in which we live.

The rigorous nature of the assessment process and judging seal the credibility and set them apart from other award programmes .We look for examples of best practice, across four different categories, that could be transformational in building a sustainable organisation.

Category: Moving financial markets (Large organisations)

This award recognises organisations that have investment activities, products and services that demonstrate ambition to build a more sustainable financial system.

Entrants must demonstrate:

  • Sustainability is embedded in their investment activities, financial products or services.
  • Their approach is enabling the generation of environmental and/or social benefits IN ADDITION TO delivering positive financial outcomes.
  • They have successfully scaled up their activity, product or service or are actively working to do so.
